What FEDUPS and Hopi were saying in a roundabout way is NO.

          No no no no no.....

My bad.... totally CA legalized MAK-90... swapped trigger assembly, piston and receiver...

          Only part I'm curious about-

open mag well, no evil features...plugged thumbhole. Legal?

What about "on the list" do you not understand?

The MAK-90 is listed. If it's not registered, it's not legal, no matter what features you have or don't have. If it's registered, you can have all the features you want.

If the MAK-90 is listed on the AW guide posted above, and it is not registered as an AW with the DOJ, and it is a working semi-automatic rifle, then it is not currently legal to posses or import in CA.

You say swapped receiver?... What *exactly* does the new receiver say on it? If it is on the list it doesn't matter what configuration it is in.

This was a MAK-90 that was cut in half/receiver destroyed. Purchased new US made receiver from Elk River Tool and Die, new Tapco Trigger Group, Tapco Piston, US made Trigger Guard/mag release.

If it is an off-list receiver, then you are good to go with the open magwell, feature-less build. If it were me, I'd make the 'plug' as permanent as possible.

It's no longer a MAK-90, so stop refering to it as one.

It's now an OLL AK clone.

Nah - keep calling it a Mak90. So eviiil sounding

I still refer to my Romanian "G" parts kits built on flats and NDS receivers as Romy Gs or as AK-47s.

You may have do deal with 922r now depending on how you configure the rifle.
