    Buffer retaining hole question

So question for those more well versed in the AR platform than me. While cleaning my rifle I noticed that the hole where the buffer's retaining pin sit appears to be elongated somewhat.

Here it is without the spring/buffer installed.

Here it is with the spring/buffer installed. Notice that the gap circled in red in the first pic is now gone and that the retaining pin is at a slight angle instead of being perpendicular.

Heres my other AR for comparison. Retaining pin is flush against the hole and pin is perpendicular even with spring/buffer installed.

Now am I just being paranoid or is this the beginning of a bigger problem that needs to be axed. If so, what are some options to fix/mitigate further damage? Just want to avoid having this happen to my lower.

Sorry, I'm confused. Is that your lower in the last pic?

Last pic is from ARFCOM, just a drastic example I want to avoid. The buffer is screwed on as close as possible, if I were to do one more turn then the tube is pressed up against the pin preventing it from moving and it would grind up on it.

looks like something i would keep an eye on to see if it's something that will progressively get worse or just something i didnt notice before.

Is this a polymer or other sort of composition lower?

I don't bother with the buffer detent anymore on most of my ar15. Use a JP captured buffer and you don't need that pice.

Nope, all metal(not sure which type off top of my head).

I checked the JP springs but can't use them. I'm running a heavy buffer/spring since its suppressed and gets overgassed to slow down the bolt some.
