    M&P10 vs 300aac upper

Building a Hog Hunting rig for Texas, have a cmmg 300blk upper on backorder (should ship in july according to cmmg) but for the sake of "NOW". A shop down the street has a smith M&P10 for $1600.

Here is my dilema, my AR15 is setup just how I like it with all the accessories. A 300blk upper would be cheap way to add some extra hog stoppin power and work with my existing CMMG lower + pmags. I also currently posses exactly 2 boxes of 300aac that I bought just before I ordered the 300blk upper.

As for the MP10 its a great platform and I like the fact that many common AR parts can be used on it. Ammo is also much more freely available as its a "common caliber". But by the time I get gun + mags + ammo ill be in it for 2k.

Whats calguns opinion on this? I am leaning towards the 300blk since it would save me about $1400 but I am also warming up to the idea of the MP10. Especially if I run into a 400+ lbs hog.

    Thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

Not sure if this is an option for you or not but Brownells has AAC 16" uppers in stock right now for $1080. Maybe you could cancel your CMMG order? I have one of the AAC's and have whacked some coyotes and fox with it and it is a great rifle. My buddy has the same one and has killed a couple hogs with his and he says it puts them down hard.

Thanks for the input, perhaps this should be moved over to the hunting section? Can a mod move this for me?

Why do you need a full .300 upper. Aren't supposed to be able to just change the barrel from 223/5.56 to shoot 300 blk? Fwiw it's worth, 300 blk's max range appears to be 200 yards.
