I use the Tapco chamber flags, and I always carry one or two in my range bag. They are rather inexpensive (less than $10 for a 6-pack), and work on both my AK and AR bullet buttons.

Why not practice more using a round? It may be a little awkward at first but It works good enough for me, after some practice, all though I've never practiced a "tactical reload" in my life. I also use my keys every now and then. I guess the word that keeps popping up in this post is practice.
