    PSA Upper Choice

Hello. I looking into purchase an upper and I have my mind set on PSA basically. I have two uppers in mind and would like your thoughts if possible as I am still new to the whole AR thing.

First off, the daily deal one:

    Second,

I feel as if the second is more aesthetically appealing, but I heard that PSA may skip a process in the configuration with this. Please try to keep in mind that the budget is <$500 if you suggest other uppers. Thanks in advance

Add some money to the second one ($20-40) because it doesn't come with a charging handle, if you're comparing prices between the two.

But personally, I wouldn't buy an AR with a plastic rail, but maybe that's just me. So the "deal" isn't much a deal, in my eyes.

I've seen Spikes uppers that included both the CH and BCG (neither of those includes a BCG so add $135-150+ for that part) for ~$550 at Joe Bobs recently. I'd hold out for one of those, personally. Better hardware. The second link has a nice top rail, but that is easily changed down the road, whereas the main guts of the upper are a lot harder to swap out, so it's good to have a high quality base, IMO.

I have both a BCG and CH. I can't go over $500 at all. I'm solely looking for an upper.

I should also add that I plan on replacing the rail on the M4 witha Magpul MOE handguard. OR trading the one on the other one for a FDE one if possible.

I just meant it's easy to change a rail, but it's a lot more complicated to change a barrel, upper receiver, etc. The barrel and the upper receiver and gas assembly are the complicated bits. Rails are simple to change out later... and have absolutely nothing to do with how well the rifle fires. (read: they're not important to the function of the rifle, the barrel and other bits, however, are critical)

Giving another look at the BCM's, although I'm not too fond of the fact that the one's I can afford have a Front sight.

Mid Length 16" Upper (Light Weight). This AR15 Upper comes with a 16in barrel & your choice of muzzle device and handguard. Designed as life saving tools.

Get the one from psa, if youre worried about price, you wont have the money for the extra ammo to see if the bcm lasts longer or not

That's a really good piece of gear, there.

The daily deal you originally linked has the front sight, as well.

                            Get the railed 479 one.

It already has a lo pro gas block if you want to go with a different rail later.

The first one youre stuck with carbine guards/rails for the most part unless you start messing with the gas block.

I'm asking which one is better though. If I were to get the one in the Second link I won't have some money for ammo, a magazine, and a California compliant bullet button or other device for a week. But what I'm asking is. Is there anything that is extremely different between the two (now three) that makes such a large difference? The rifle is not going to be shot a large amount of the time. In fact I doubt I will use it for 8 months of the year (going off to college/no guns). Is it a pain to remove the front sight? How would one go about doing that? (If I decide to go with the one in the first link.)
