is this the case with all PSA uppers or only this one?

    thanks
Only the PSA uppers with low profile gas blocks have the issue I described. Their uppers with fixed front sights are good to go.

So this is a good deal? How much do PSA lowers usually run for?

Last November, I ordered an M4A1 upper with FSB and plastic handguards for $300 non-blem. Pre-panic prices for sure.

I paid mid $600's for my New Frontier Armory 18" pre-panic. It was a middle of the road free float upper with a YHM double diamond so $400 for a free float and the other stats sounds good.

Price is good... I believe the barrel is made by FN and the free float is a sweet one by MI. If I have 4 bills right now I would have bought it

Not a gunsmith.... but I am a 'guitar smith'....

Seeing as how I built this from planks of wood in my garage....

I don't think 'starting' a couple little holes in a barrel would scare me. Jig or no jig. (I think I made about 6 or 7 jigs just to make this guitar.)

Note the aluminum binding around the 'f' hole, around the body, and the neck. It's also a 'neckthru' design, with 24 frets. I've never heard of anyone making a neckthru telecaster, or 24 fret tele, or bound in aluminum ANYTHING besides what comes out of my dirty, crowded garage.

That guitar is probably worth about $5k. All hand made in my garage.

Yeah... I think I can manage to 'dimple' two little starting holes in a barrel- without a 'special jig', and it would not be worth paying shipping to have someone else do it.

On the other hand.... I've seen 2 people seriously mutilate themselves on a drill press, and heard of 1 more from a reliable source.....

Not everyone is cut out for doing their own work.... thats for sure!

Nice thanks for the post. I' am sure it's alot more piece of mind for him to have someone that actually has the upper post. The Charging handles no big I' am sure there's plenty of people like me that have an extra one they would be willing to send you. The BCG on the other hand is almost $200 which kinda sucks. i dind't realize it didn't come with a BCG.

My upper didn't come with a BCG because I asked them not to add one as I had one of my own already. So that saved me alot of cash. Mine would have been in the high $800's with a BCG.

                              Ive

I've work on cars and guns before and I'm not experienced in working on either of those. Ill be scared to touch that good looking guitar. I played one for years and i can't even properly tune a guitar without electronic tuning device.
Good looking guitar you got there.
