Use a coated, one-piece rod. Also get a rod holder to protect it.

26 inch Bore-tech for .22 caliber rifles. I have both the Dewey and the Bore-tech. Im gonna return the Dewey this weekend. The Boretech has a much better handle than the dewey. Other than that, I use a jag and the Sinclair International "breech" guide that locks into the lugs. I always clean from the breech end if i can.

+1 for OTIS kit though. I wish I could find mine.. that thing is great to take out into the "field"..

I'll stir the pot: my barrel hasn't seen a patch for the past +400 rounds.

I do primarily use the Otis kit though, but never go crazy with the solvent.

I also have a Bore-tech rod, can't remember the last time I used it though. I spun the handle once
            and was sold on it.
