AK muzzle brake info needed

The ak74 muzzle brake is a great break but is it the best?

With all the new brakes out as of late I am wondering if I should get something new for my Romy G AK.

I do need a muzzle brake and not A flash hider so I can stay featureless. Anyone care to recommend me a new muzzle brake or is the 74 still the best.

The 74 style muzzle brake wasn't made around the 7.62 round. It doesn't perform very well when used on that platform. Any of the popular 7.62/.308 brakes on the market would be much more effective, but would likely require your muzzle threading to be changed. You have two AK specific items that would work very well for you. The AKBC (AK BattleComp) or the latest one from Venom Tactical; The Antidote. Both are designed to mount onto a stock AKM-47 system. I've personally used both, and the new Antidote is by far the most effective. Both brakes carry a price tag of $200.

This video is what got me thinking about a muzzle brake.

Does the BCM advertise as a flash suppression device or just a muzzle brake?
I don't see any mention of flash supression but better ask just to be sure.

Ive been shooting a 74 for about a year now...the stock flash hider works great is stick with it

BCM (BravoCompanyMfg) doesn't manufacture any AK specific muzzle devices. BCE (BattleCompEnt) does and it is sold as a Brake, as is the Antidote brake.
