Just wondering what the best way to carry loaded stripper clips might be. Simple to load a magazine for an AK or AR, but if you are carrying strippers, how do you do it? I have thought of using a small pouch that might hold about 10 to 15 clips (200 - 300 rounds.)

You can buy carboard sleeves for them, 3 clips to a sleeve which I believe is the military way. I've seen the sleeves for sale in the back of Shotgun News. You can also buy badeleros to carry them in with the sleeves.I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

25rd shotshell boxes hold 12 .223 stripper clips.Comment

I buy milsurp pouches or bandoliers that were designed to hold the loaded stripper clips.
Cloth bandoliers for 5.56 / Mosin pouches for 7.62x54r / Chinese SKS bandoliers for 7.62x39 / British Enfield pouches for .303 and so on.
They're not hard to find but prices vary a lot -- always check prices elsewhere before buying. If you can't find a particular choice ask here; somebody will know where to find them.Last edited by VegasND; 06-10-2013, 8:49 PM.People don't like to be meddled with. I store my 7.62 loaded on stripper clips in cardboard sleeves that can be dropped into bandoleers. Each ammo can with them stored like this has a speed loader dropped in too. If I was carrying them I would grab some of the cardboard sleeve loaded stripper clips in a bandolier.NRA Endowment MemberComment

there are also some Fed black box and red box that come on strippers that you can reuse the boxes just as easily..
I stripped up 500 rounds of bulk out of a case I split with a friend in about 25 minutes last week..
I like to conserve precious range time.. every little time saver counts

I am too clumsy to work a stripper clip. I end up bending the hell out of it and all the rounds fall out.Comment

I would just use a dump pouch.
Best option is just have enough magazines for all the ammo you could possible ever want to carry.Comment

That's too bad. I suggest you master the skill or never buy firearms that load conveniently with them. That would include SKS, bolt-action milsurps, some handguns too.
