    Question about barrel threading

I've got a Wasr-3 that has 14x1 left hand threads on the barrel. It's threaded so crooked that I cannot bottom out the 74 style brake. In fact, the brake would be crooked enough that I've never tried firing it with either a slant brake or the 74 style, just with the bare threads.

Would it be possible to re-thread the barrel straight, or would ther be too much slop in the threads?

    It's only an AK.

Just put a slant brake on there and turn it so that the open part of the brake is pointed in a direction that will let the bullet out of the barrel without the bullet hitting the brake.
    Loctite it into that place.
