    Armalite AR10 10 round magazines

It looks like JP is getting rid of their AR10 10 round magazines inventory. They are usually around $30.

Nice find, ordered 4 for my Noveske N6 OLL.

Their prices on DPMS 308 10-Round Magazines at $29.95 is very good too. Picked up 2 of those for my Fulton 308 OLL.

By the picture, those are Generation I mags, not Generation II. If they are Generation II then that would be an excellent price.

I noticed the picture also. I have a couple of Generation 2 on order from Armalite that were supposed to be available the first of the month, but no word yet.

How much poorer are the Gen 1s (says the guy who has already ordered?)

A lot of people report no problems at all. But the problems that are reported seem to focus around the plunger in the back of the follower binding a small amount. This is used for the bolt hold open feature.

What Blacktail said and to add, sometimes the plunger on Gen I mag gets stuck inside the mag body. However, they work just fine.

A word of caution if buying Generation II mags and your LPK is older than 2 years (or so), you will have to get the new mag catch for the bolt hold open feature to function properly. The new mag catch will work with both Generation I and II.

I have never had a problem with Gen I mags in 2 years of use. The Gen I plunger is kind of goofy and Armalite has seemed to have accepted a wide tolerance in length of the plunger. Get a couple of Gen I mags now for cheap and get a bunch of Gen II mags when they are readily available.

Yeah. After seeing C.G.'s & Blacktail's responses I'm not too worried.

There have been problems with poorly converted M14 magazine. The 10 rounders should be O.K.

The consensus is that the M-14 mags that didn't work were converted by the user. The Armalite converted ones usually worked fine.

One more thing to add. Generation II mags have new followers.

The GII mags also don't work in M14's if anyone is thinking about "repairing" their pre-ban M14 20-rounders to also work in a Noveske/ Armalite.

Gah... Apparently I didn't actually order any as they were out of stock even though the website showed stock..

                            Lame.

It's fairly easy to find them in stock for $30.

It's harder to find them for $20.

Armalite doesn't list the old 10 rounders on their site any more. After the old stock is gone $45.00 might be the going rate for AR10 mags.
