Need help with AR Upper.

Hey guys,
I'm going to try and build my own pistol upper from scratch. I have always got complete upper because in my mind I didn't want to mess up the part that goes bang bang bang. Can someone please help me on what parts I need to do this. Im confused mostly in the barrel nut, upper, quad rail are.I was thinking 7.5 barrel, KX3, 9''ish rail that will cover almost all of the barrel and muzzle device.

You need a receiver, bolt carrier, charging handle, barrel, gas tube, gas block and handguard system.
The gas block needs to fit under the handguard system.

Depends on the handguard. Some come with a proprietary barrel nut while others can fit on a standard barrel nut. Look into it when shopping around.

Also if it's got a proprietary nut make sure you order the wench for it or it coma included... Some vendors make you buy the wrench seperately. Midwest is one of the online vendors that will include a wrench on some of thier models..(i've been doing research recently as well)
