Mine's is what is now known as a Badger Thruster. WHen installed Randy (R & D) machined it to the barrel diameter - in fact unless you know its a seperate brake you might think it was part of the barrel. It reduces recoil to nothing and whats muzzle flip? . . . But don't get to the side of her especially in loose sand or our desert talc.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

I do nice muzzle brake installations including blending them to match barrel diameter.

Randall, what's your turn around time on something like this?

Also can you install the Badger bolt knob?

I made a fixture for doing badger bolt knob installs.

I sent my bolt into Badger for them to install that knob for me. GREAT customer service.

Randall did 2 Badger FTE brakes (a lot harder then you may think to install) as well as a DPMS brake on my 700 before I had her rebarreled. I didn't have him blend it cause I didn't want him to go threw all that work on a throw away. He also did my bolt knob. That thing has took a pounding and still looks as good as when he installed it.

If at a match and you see Jason ask him to shoot his rifle. That thing has less recoil then my 18# FTE braked rifle. That JP may look outrageous but the damn thing works.

It kinda grows on a guy.

After somebody shoots it for the first time?

Randy at R&D did a VAIS brake for my (and my friend's) Remington 700. He's reasonable (downright cheap IMO!) and does great work. The main advantage of the VAIS is you don't need to time it so you can have a thread protector made and run without the brake if you want (i.e. hunting).

He also does his own bolt knob conversion which IMO is sturdier than the badger. The OEM handle is cut off, a hole is drilled, and a threaded shank installed (can be done while you wait). It's stronger than machining the handle into a threaded rod, and replaceable if it breaks.

                              -Dave

PS- I'll have to look into the JP brake. I have a JP upper, but it didn't come with a brake.
