So, I'm fresh out of the military and have moved back to my home state (CA) and have officially settled in. I had to part with my scar16 prior to the move, just because I did not want to deal with the added stress while reintegrating into civilian life. So now that I'm settled, I've found myself missing my weapon, and have decided to do an AR build.
So I did a bit of research, read up on the laws a bit and tried to understand what I could (law jargon is a bit heavy on the eyes), please correct any of this for lack of understanding, however this is what I gathered I have to work with to be legit:
Barrel length 16"
Overall length 30"
Bullet button to sport "evil" goodies
No pistol grip for free mag release and no goodies
So with those established my question would be what's the process from there? Can I buy from an online dealer and put in the bullet button myself? If I wanted to purchase an already assembled rig how would I go about it then?
Thanks for the input in advance, I've tried finding the answers at a lgs but they were closed due to power outages and I havn't had the chance to check it out since.
