Build Question

I posted this question in another thread, but figure I should start my own and not thread jack. Sorry

Anyways, I'm a noob looking for a little clarification. Hypothetically, if I were to decide to build a rifle in featureless configuration but have not committed to it yet, can I keep a completely built lower with normal magazine release and awaiting kydex featureless grip and complete upper separate from each other in the same home???

Or is that constructive?

As long as the lower Is detached from any upper it doesn't need the bullet button. Since its not a center fire.
