how would you set up 3 5.56 uppers?

    I have:

Complete spikes 16" mid with standard handguards

Bare 16" mid length "lighter profile" PSA hammer forged barrel upper

Bare 16" BCM true lightweight hammer forged barrel upper.

I want some type of rail system but I can't decide if I want to take the FSB's off and run long rails on them or if I want 9" rails.

Prob just have to get a 9" and 13" and try them out?

I want to put a light mount on at least two of them.

How would you set them up?

13 all the way. I like my troy 13 more than my dd lite 12. A 9 is just silly. Shave your fsb and cut off the delta ring and you can put on a troy rail without disassembly

I put my front buis a few inches back then put an x300 at 12 o clock. On my dd lite 12 I run my surefire defender all the way at the end of the rail 9 o clock and it feels cramped

Put a 13' Troy Vtac on the BCM and run a Vltor fixed rifle stock and go featureless. Then get a Larue light mount and switch it between the uppers when you need it.

How would I setup 3 uppers?

Since I don’t like a lot of overlap...

          14.5 pencil profile middy
          16" Recce middy
          18" SPR barrel rifle length

handguards and optics appropriate to each uppers application…

Since you already have 3 16” uppers… I would have a little diversity in the optics department… Irons only, Irons + RDS, 1-4x or 1-6x type scope., ACOG, 2.5x-10x optic….

I like the idea of making one featureless too like mentioned above.

Go featureless on at least 1 of them!

The spikes is already featureless and I plan to make the other two as well. Can't stand bullet button on principle.

But I do want an 18" or 20" now. 14.5's bug me due to nfa.

I have an acog 3x and an aimpoint. A 2.5-10x or so would be great to finish off the trio.

I am a big fan of the Troy Alpha rails. Easy to install, look good, nice narrow profile, endless accessory attachment options.

I just got a 15 inch Alpha rail on my Novekse RECON 16 inch upper/Franklin Armory lower rifle.

I kept my FSB and installed a DD lite FSP.
My other AR has a pencil barrel with Geissele MKI 13in rail. Its really light and has replaced the one with the FSB. Both guns have troy sights and eotechs.
                  And get a 13in rail.

Yup, I'm going all in on my last build as a featureless. Just because....

What type of shooting will you be doing?

I, personally wouldn't have bought 3 almost identical uppers, but that's just me.

I'd have three 20" HBAR's with A2 sights, handguards, flash hiders, and stocks.

                          Very close to my approach.

                          18" SPR rifle.
                          14.5" pencil profile middy.
                          7-10" pistol (some day).
