    Is it legal to bring dpms ar10 into california

    I was wondering is it legal to bring dpms ar10 into California. I found a really nice ar 10. Only problem is it is dpms. was wondering if I put bullet button on it would that make it ok.

        If it says "DPMS" and "Panther" on the receiver, then no you can not bring it to CA.

          I don't think that is necessarily true. DPMS has many receivers that say DPMS Panther Arms MOD.A-15. I would argue that DPMS Panther Arms is the make and the model is MOD.A-15, thereby making it an OLL.

          If you can, get the guy to take a picture of the receiver and post it up so we can look at it. Otherwise, it is a crap shoot.

          Even then, you might have to spend a lot of money and time in jail to prove my theory above. It might be safer to build a CMMG, but I am sure it is more hassle. More hassle than prison? That is up to you.

            DPMS marked with Panther is illegal for cali. Panther logo is ok.
            AR-10 refers to Armailte. LR-308 refers to DPMS
            Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
