    80% lower question

I have seem several members selling 80% 'paper weights'. Actuall quite a few places on the internet now do the same.
Now the idea of these paper weights is to build a rifle for yourself off the books. Legal according to the current laws. As I understand it.
But by buying off the Internet, and paying with a credit card and then having them shipped to your home you have created a pretty big paper trail. One that could be followed by the PTB should a complete and total registration of all firearms be required.
Yeah I know the arguments against that idea. But I'm old. When I was a kid you could go into sears and by a rifle or hand gun and walk out without any paper work at all.
    Things have changed.
I think we need some 80% store fronts to buy from. Walk in make your purchases and all is hunky dory.
Someone selling paper weights might make more money selling to guns shops that have walk-in customers.
    Just a thought.

And why would buying it with a credit card matter?

Well, for some folks it's just a matter of building an AR that has absolutely ZERO trail back to their name. Does it matter? Probably not. But everyone's different. If keeping it under the radar isn't of your concern, why not just go the FFL route?

So you think purchasing w card =s DROS (which some people think is registration)

No, it's just one of those paranoia things for some people. I'm not saying I worry about swiping the card for an 80% build, but I can understand why some people might be concerned. It's like folks that cover their serial # in pictures. It's a well known fact that LE can trace your credit card purchases. Once again just peace of mind

I went 80% so I could do a pistol build. Had nothing to do with hiding from the man. This idea that it is better to hide than be counted is part of the overall problem anyway.
