Yes it is. It's bigger and uses a screw instead of a roll pin to secure it.

Could you please explain? I have an issue with the Bolt Catch Lever on a LR-308. I know the issue I'm seeing, I want to confirm before purchasing another lever.

        Thank you

Okay... No matter how you color it, "NO" means "NO!". So what part of "NO" didn't you understand???

It is an 80% by Colfax Tactical.

I'm not quite sure what you want me to explain. Maybe this side-by-side picture will help:

              AR15 on top
              LR-308 on bottom

You should probably call or email Colfax to see which catch they designed their lowers to work with.

                Answer from another post:

I got an answer in another part of the forum. But this is also perfect. Between the two, this actually gives you a good visual of the difference. The AR15 has a smaller lever, meaning it isn't as long vertically. The Tang on the Bolt Release Lever for the 308 is about an 1/8th in father out from the lever, centering it on the Mag follower. This allows the tang to ride the follower of the mag as it should.

The Tang on the AR15 Bolt Release Lever, when installed on the 308 rides offset to the left and does not ride center of the follower what so ever. As a matter of fact the tang rides to the left of the follower and binds between the mag frame and the follower of the Magpul LR20 mags. 2-3 times out of 4 that you will be able to release the BCG, but you will feel the binding of the Bolt Release Lever. On an A.S.C. mag The Tang will hit the frame of the Mag, locking the bolt until you manually pull the mag out.

Thank you for your post. I had a bunch of spare parts from AR15 builds, then decided to build an LR-308 with some of these parts. Some of my friends insisted that the AR15 lower parts were identical. That's not the case. There are a few differences.

Although I took it to go shoot this last weekend, I didn't get the opportunity. Good thing! When I got home from the range that evening, I was putting away other rifles and decided to take a look at the 308. I slipped an empty mag in the well and pulled back on the charging handle. I tried to release the bolt, but it wouldn't release. I manually removed the mag then I put it away, deciding to examine it later. Too tired.

When I took a look at it this morning, I did the same function check as I did the other day and had the same problem. When I started looking a little closer, I realized that the Bolt Catch Release was offset. I knew that couldn't be right. So I started reading and asking questions. You and one other gave the answers I needed along with some good photos of what the differences are.

                Thank you
