.223 AR-15 problem, can you help me?

I have a Stag 3HL complete upper, and a JD Lower. I have taken it out 6 times and put about 2,000 rounds down range. 5 out of 6 times the bolt has jammed due to the gas rings folding over the bolt and wedging the carrier. I do clean it but it is not spotless. I also shoot reloads, and keep it well lubed with CLP. I am frustrated and sad that the gun decides when I leave the range. Anything helps thank you.

What kind of BCG/Bolt do you run? If it is off ebay, or non-brand the specs may be off. Try these...One piece.

Found this link that might help.

have you tried replacing the gas rings? do that test where u stand your bolt upright. if it can hold the full weight of the carrier then its fine. if not, replace them.

My upper is came complete from Stag arms. I have replaced the gas rings 6 or 7 times. I have carried spares with me since the first time it happened.

The link I posted has someone talking about sending it back to the Manufacturer. "Some bolts can be out of balance," he states? First time I hear about it.

A lubed BCG will not hold the weight.

Borrow someone's BCG, if it continues you can start narrowing down.

The bore of the carrier should be hard chromed. Look inside and see if it is shiny after cleaning or anything that looks/feels rough. Gouges will feel rough after you install new rings. Of course you are dumping lube into the exhaust ports to lube the rings?
Since it's a lefty you best recourse will be to contact Stag for warranty if all else fails.
