    I am no expert, but I was told buying a Colt is like (back in the day) buying a Sony. You are paying extra for the name.

    I ended up getting a S&W M&P 15 because of the name (good feedback here) and lower cost, warranty and was able to get it at msrp price. No markup. I hate paying retail but in this market I was able to live with it. Paid $1069. That same rifle was probably $899 or so pre-panic but live and learn.

    A similar Sig was $2000 at a local store.

    If you are stuck on that particular model (FDE) be prepared to wait or pay up for it. If you are more flexible, you have some wiggle room.
