        No difference.

        Forged is stronger, but the lower receiver is just there to hold parts together. With the exception of needing to hold the buffer tube inline with the upper BCG, there's not much strain on the part, so billet works just fine and can be designed to appeal to a more dandy crowd.

            Plus you don't have to wait for forgings to be available (which seems to be the long pole in the tent for current reasonably priced orders).

                For those who say forged is better or the same thing just different price, are you guys professional metallurgists? Or are these merely your opinions?

                        The forged ones are usually made of a slightly better grade of aluminum that is a little harder than the billet ones.

                            Some billet lowers have some extra features which some may find desirable like integrated trigger guards, ambi controls. That's about it really
