When did Tapco introduce their AK mags?

I can't seem to find the answer to this. Does anyone recall when Tapco first brought their AK mags to market?

Couldn't tell you, think I was still on my self induced gun hiatus when it happened (thank you bullet button and Calguns for changing that) but IIRC they are on their 2nd Gen design, which is less crappy than the originals

Doesent matter if this is the case. You can rebuild pre bans with newer style mags. I've done this with synth bulgy mags as well as pmags etc etc

I took a break myself. After leaving the .mil, it took me a while to get back behind a gun. The 2nd gens are a much better design.

LOL, thanks for pointing the above out. This is actually for a writing assignment though. I have an anti professor and make it a point to write about the 2A in every assignment because I know she has to read the whole thing. Maybe she'll be a convert. I'm writing about CA magazine laws and was actually planning on making the points you two made above before you guys replied.

I guess I have to call Tapco, internet searches haven't yielded any fruit.

The tapco mags have a date code on them, btw. So you can tell what month and year they were made.

So let me get this straight. If I have a preban mag with a damaged case, I can swap in a post ban one?
