    Need help finding a scope!

Hey guys I need a little help finding a scope for a new build.

The set up: Remington 700SPS 26" chambered in .300 Win Mag and mounted on an AICS 2.0 This build will mostly be for bench/prone long distance target shooting. And a little bit for showing off when my shooting buddies come over...

Anyways, I'm looking for an optic with specific features and could use some help finding said scope! What I'm looking for:
    1) Mil dot reticle
    2) Mil turrets
    3) Front focal plane
    4) 40mm (or bigger) objective
    5) Variable zoom: to maybe 12X or 16X...
    6) Side focus or adjustable objective
    7) A bullet drop compensator would be nice but is not essential
    8) And the kicker... I want this all for under $600!!

I know that at this price point I'm limiting my options and I might be able to spend a little more, but cheaper is better! Please list any/all scopes meeting these criteria (regardless of price)!! Thank you Cal-Gunners!!!!!

Look at midway. You can add your search criteria. I think there is a counter sniper scope or Leupold within your budget.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

The new SWFA 3-15X42 FFP looks like a pretty decent option. I'm looking at scopes for a 300 Win Mag as well, the SWFA 3-15 and Bushnell 3-12X44 G2DMR are pretty high on the list of potentials. Within the $600 budget, Falcon Menace is probably one of the only options avaialble that meets your criteria, although I'm not sure how long one of those would last on top of a 300 Win Mag.

              FFP+ mil/mil or MOA/MOA usually means $900. I think vortex makes one closer to 750? I forget

SWFA is going to be your best bet, I'll be putting one on my MSG PTR-91.

I'm confused if you have a Mil dot turret and reticle why do you need a bullet drop compensator? Do they even make such a thing?

Also if you are going to shot at fixed distances, why spend the extra money on mil dot and first focal plane scopes. Mil's biggest advantage is ranging and using the dots to hold over or hold off.

Unless your looking to shot long range at unknown distances, your going to spend a lot more for the mil dot combo. If your shooting bench or competition at fixed ranges you can get by with the cheaper Moa/moa scope. The advantage of a first focal point scope is that you can use the hash marks to hold off at all magnifications, but if your shooting prone in competition you have plenty of time to adjust your windage turret to make those adjustments. But even 2nd FP can be use at one magnification to hold off, usually the max.

If you were looking for a fixed mag scope I'd say 10x or 12x; higher than that may be unusable for long range when the mirage is heavy. If your going with variable 4x-16x or 5x-20x give you the option to adjust for mirage and may help you read it.

My suggestion is start with a Moa/Moa 2nd focal scope, like one of the Vortex Vipers either the HS LR around $600 or the PST for just a little more. If you eventually find you need a mil/mil, buying a quality scope to start will give you a good return should you want to trade it in or sell it outright.

Weaver Tactical, Vortex Viper PST, Bushnell Tact with G2DMR (Awesome Reticle!!). You can always check out Falcon Menace. I have seen a few around and they have everything you want in your price range. Out of everything I have listed, I feel the Bushnell is one of the best scopes out right now in the under $1000 price range.

Counter Sniper? I hope you were joking. For $600 you are not going to get a quality FFP mil/mil scope with adjustable turrets. $1k will get you a Vortex Viper PST. The next step up would be a Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21 or a Vortex Razor HD. Also, BDC reticles are a waste of money and not practical for what you want to do with the rifle.

SWFA SS. For that price range.
