So I picked up my lower from jail today and it snapped right together. If things go right I will go shoot it tomorrow. I function checked it and it ejects snap caps properly.
One question I have is about the red dot. I only see the red dot near the top of the lens. Does it need to be mounted with a spacer? What size spacer would work?

Without knowing what type of optic you have its impossible to tell you what type of space you need, but yes you do need one. See the mount that comes with the Aimpoint PRO for an example of approximately how high your optic needs to be off the top rail.

Also, great advice there, telling the OP to get a shorter barrel and make an SBR in the name of making it look "proportional" (whatever the hell that means on a rifle).

The spacer/mount is for you to decide based on how comfortable your cheek weld is. If you feel like you are kinking your neck in an awkward position to get a decent field of view, then yes, get a mount (low/mid/high).

A riser would be wise, ESP if you want to add backup sights that will cowitness with the optic.

Like the others said, a mount would be helpful if you plan to use BUIS. Then it's a matter of comfort and if you want full co-witness or 1/3 co-witness with your optic.

Its a CP Tactical RDS?

Once you get the BUIS, measure from the top of rail to RDS center line and again from BUIS center line. The difference is your riser height.

That amount would give absolute co-witness. An additional amount, about 1/4" higher, would give you lower 1/3 co-witness.

Rifle looks great as is...I'm not a fan of the full length rails.

If anything the handguard is too long. The M4 handguard is somewhat shorter.

Well I shot it today. Use three kinds of ammo including crappie Wolf and it shoots smooth and had zero failures.
Went as far as 50 yards and once dialed in got the bulls eye almost every time.
This is fun!
