    DPMS Single Shot ?'s

I need to assemble my DPMS single shot lower internals for my .50 BMG and
    have a couple of questions.
If you've used a DPMS single shot for a .50 BMG you should have my answer.
Magazine follower - Where a magazine would be, there are two tapped holes
as if a dummy top portion of a follower might go. Is this what goes
there? Anybody know where I would obtain such a part?

I've also seen lead weights to put in an AR buttstock, but listed as no
shipping to CA. Why would that be? Is it toxics related? I would think
one might be useful in a .50 BMG to reduce recoil.

If your DPMS lower receiver didn't come with a white nylon feed ramp where the mag follower normally would sit if you were to install a magazine, then I think you are missing something from your lower receiver. It should have come with it. However, it only feeds .223 or similar sized cartridges - it will not accommodate a .50BMG round, as far as I can tell.

Might help if you tell us which upper you are getting; and/or contact the upper manufacturer to see if you need a feed ramp; generally, and admittedly, I don't know that much about .50, they didn't need a feed ramp, it was in the upper in a single shot.
As far as I know there is no ban on shipping lead, I haven't had any problems getting lead-containing materials from my suppliers.

If you get an upper with a nice brake there really is no need to add more weight. The extra pound or two is not going to help all that much with a 50BMG round. There are two uppers that are light and have very effective brakes. A well designed brake will lighten the recoil more then anything else. http://www.ultramag50.com and http://www.ultralite50.com . I have not decided which I will be getting. If I have the money Ultramag will be my pick.

Some vendors won't ship any "assault weapon" parts to California. I think Sportsman's Guide attaches different restrictive codes to all of their inventory items based on different state laws. If they accidently restrict an item for shipping to California even though the item is legal here, good luck trying to explain that to the customer service person on the phone.

But you can always find the same item at another vendor, even some that are in California.

Thanks, I didn't get a ramp piece, but maybe it won't be needed. I haven't made my final decision on upper for the .50 BMG yet - I will when I have the $ in a few months.
