80% lower Question

First my appologies if this has already been discussed.

Once the 80% has been machined i know you can't sell it but can you give it away??

If you can give it away can you give them the lower but charge them 300.00 for the PMAG?

legally there is no difference between selling it and giving it away, both are considered a transfer.

And how do you "know you can't sell it"? federal law allows for you to sell a homebuilt firearm (but you can't build it with the intent to sell it, that would require you to be a licensed manufacturer). ATF says that you have to mark you name, city, state and serial number on it before you sell it.
