        770 & 710 are not junk.

        They are a fine entry level deer rifle.

        I own a 710 in .30-06, and have taken game with it just fine.

        The weatherby is a different kind of gun, what are you looking for?
        Looking for a 3" Magnum 870 $200-$250ish

          The reason the 710 was dropped was because too many problems with it. The 770 took its place and is not much of an improvement. There are much better entry level, same or less price range, rifles out there.

          Glad YOU like yours but that does not make it good. There was a real reason they stopped making them so quickly. What scope do you have on it? A quality Barska?? BSA or Trashco??---Just ribbing you. Do not be offended.

          If you are happy with it that is all that matters.
          A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
