I will be taking the frontsight rifle course this summer (just waiting for my buddies to get their ARs so we can all go together) using my SW MP15. I am looking to get some glass for it and am debating between Primary Arms 3x and their new 6x. I would prefer the 6x but would this be too much magnification for the FS rifle course as most of the targets are pretty close? Has anyone taken the course and used different magnifications of these scopes or any? What do you guys think?

I would consider sticking with a non-magnified red dot. Most those types of courses don't reach out very far.Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings : Custom Paracord slings

Thanks, I would prefer to have the 6x but I think it will slow me down to much on the course. Looks like I will be picking up the 3x. The furthest I have shot with 3x was on an ACOG with headshots out to 150 but I was pretty inaccurate (mostly hitting the ears, top of the head, not within the box). From what I understand the 200yd shots are all chest cavity though right?Comment

I have been wanting to try the PA 3X for the Practical Rifle course and the new 6X for the Precision Rifle course. Report back and let us know how it worked for you. Yes Sir will do! Will the 6X be adequate for the Precision Rifle Course? I was thinking about getting PA's variable to 14x for my Savage 30-06 if I can DJ but if the 6X can work it looks like a great choice to me. I guess it would depend a lot on the eyesight of the user though.Comment

My buddy and I went and we used iron sights and were usually the first shots on target... On another trip, I used a 3-9x scope and it never left 3x.Originally posted by KestryllYour name has been publicly printed in newspapers and on the web, your expectation of privacy is flat gone.Originally posted by CALGUNS.NETYou have been banned for the following reason: posting other member's personal info without permission.
