Where to find Ammo

I have a couple questions. One I see people post things on Calguns about gettin ammo mailed to your door step? I did not know you could get ammo mailed in CA. Is there a trick I dont know of?
2. been looking for a good deal on .223 or 5.56 ammo in my neck of the woods? OC,IE area and maybe LA.

I get ammo mailed to me all the time, no problems at all. Sgammo.com has ammo at decent prices.

US mail won't "mail" ammo. you need to have it fedex or ups.

there is no trick, ammo isn't a restricted item, some scary companies just avoid California altogether and refuse to ship I really don't know why

Wow that's expensive! You can lurk the local Walmart too, you can only buy 3 boxes at a time when its in stock, so just bring a friend or two with you. It's still selling for 8.99 a box of 20, And its the m193 ammo.

I mainly get mine from luckygunner, ammunitiontogo and Natchez. As of matter of fact, I just order 10 boxes of PMC 5.56 for $12.99 this morning from Natchez. You can also check out www.gunbot.net for good ammo deals.

Calguns members are too cool thx everyone for comments. Anyone hittin the OC Gun show tomorrow? Im thinking of going but heard theres a huge wait to get in and lines to buy. Online sounds better to me.

I'll be there again, last time I got there at 7am and was like the 500th person in line, were getting there at 5:30 this time.
Also I just got my 200 rounds of 5.56 ammo from sgammo for 138. Still a bit high, but cheaper than I had found anywhere else.

Just to elaborate - the good deals on gunbot go fast. So you have to leave the window open and watch for something popping up. But if you're patient and you're on a computer a lot you'll get something eventually.

You can have ammo shipped via UPS or FedEx, I do it all the time. Certain cities have laws against it, though. If you're in Sacramento or Los Angeles (the actual city itself, not the surrounding area) you may be SOL for online ammo purchases. If your address is in a prohibited city, try shipping to a friend in a different city.

Join the club. As others have said, I have a gunbot.net window open all day at work. Keep an eye out, every so often a deal will pop up. I've seen it for as cheap as $0.35 this week, but it sold out before I could get any.

If you use gunbot dont forget to turn on the beep noise. It will make a beep everytime there is an update. i.e ammo coming in stock.
