Sig patrol 716 trigger problems

Hammer getting caught on disconnector? Any ideas? And what is everyone's opinion of the sig sauer patrol 716

This is the disconnector the rifle came with its brand new, does that sometimes happen? Super new to this, thanks for replying man

i have a sig pistol but not a sig rifle so cant speak on quality of the LPG.

what i can tell you is this happened to me on my S&W MP15/22 (same trigger as AR's) and the fix was to De-burr the hammer where it meet the dis-connector. basically file lightly(polish) the areas that touch each other and it should work fine.

im no pro by any means but have done about 10 trigger jobs on AR's now and have learned that almost every LPG is of different quality when it comes to parts. some are baby smooth and some need lots of TLC.

It's a great gun, I've had it for some time. Did you buy it new or used? Just take the trigger assembly out, clean it up, check for any metal spurs on the pieces and the lower (especially the lower). This could be a problem. I have one on the channel where the charging rail goes. It's not causing me any issues though.

The best solution is to call Sig, they will probably have you send it in, but they will fix what is wrong, they have good service. You may need to wait a bit to get it back, but it's the best solution if you can't find the problem.

I appreciate the reply man, it's a brand new gun, just fired for the first time a couple days ago, i took the the trigger out and found a piece of brass right under the trigger disconnector piece( not sure what its called I'm super new to this, I just bought a smith & Wesson ar-15 and a compact kimber and this sig all during February and they are my first guns, so I'm a rookie) thanks dude

if you could put up a pic of where its hanging up, use MS paint (the program) to put circles around the area that you see it getting caught up.

where do you live? if your local i can pop out your trigger group and put it back in right and make sure no parts have burrs on them.

Oh yeah I couldn't do the circles sorry, but it's right there where the hammer is touching the disconnector

yep thats the same spot. take it apart and feel the hammer in that spot,feel for burrs.same with the dis-connector. think of the filing more like sanding .only smooth it out ,dont take off any material. both part touch when working but shouldnt hang up. take your time and go slow. only takes a little.

and im in so-cal so your not local.lol

I have a couple late production Sig716 (fall 2012 build) and the one I have opened and shot has been flawless

I heard there were some issues on early ones (as there are on most early "anything") but its been resolved

Yours looks like it might just be a trigger issue, these are usually sub-ed out, but sucks that sig didn't catch it, however looks like an easy fix as others have suggested
