I say by all means get the spring loading bolt if it makes you feel better not having the light primer strike. Before you do that, make sure your firing pin channel is clear of obstructions and not hindering the free movement of the firing pin. One reason Arsenal made the spring loading firing pin is because of the "softer" primers used in commercial .223/5.56 and .308 ammo. Generally it's not needed because most AK ammo have "hard" primers.

Tula is notorious for hard primers, thus they look like light strikes.

I stated it before, just try some different ammo. You should be fine, no need to invest in any additional FCGs, well, unless you convert your Saiga from sporterized configuration, then get a Texas AK trigger or a TAPCO G2 trigger.

Seriously, just google Tula and light strikes, plenty of posts should pop up. I was having issues with 9mm but the Tula actually feeds fine for me. I do avoid Tula 223/556, 5.45x39 and 7.62x39. Weird, but I do.

Thanks guys for the helpful information I probably won't get the spring loaded firing pin for now, but just wanted to get a bit more info on it. And yes, in the future I'll be sure to always use the highest level of safety when testing function. I don't want to set a bad example for novice shooters on here who might read this. I've been shooting since i was 2.5 years old and do know what I'm doing and what I'm comfortable with. But it's always a good idea to be reminded to be careful, even if you've been shooting for 50 years.
