I don't have that one, but I highly recommend using an ACI on any serious rifle. I've bought mine from U.S. Tactical Supply:

Same one. Very useful. I like the mount on the Nightforce one, but I prefer the ACI because I don't have to run the cosign. Slightly quicker.

I wish I was cool enough to even know how to use it at a moments notice or truly have a need for one on any of my rifles.

          ACI is super easy.
ADI requires a PDA or 5.11 watch as it indicates angle in degrees instead of cosign.

With an ACI, you take the range to target and multiply by the cosign.
If you are reading 90 as the cosign, multipy by 0.90.

A 500yd ranged target at 90 cosign is 450 yds away on a horizontal plane.
Adjust to your dope for 450 yds and fire.
Just think of the ACI markings as "percentage of ranged distance".

I know the man who owns Sniper Tools personally and can personally say the ACI is a very handy tool and beats the hell out of the old protractor and string. Anyway you can get them either in cosign (%) or angle. I prefer the angle since I also wear a 5.11 watch.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

One's always in the shop being fixed like European sports cars...

I have an ACI and a separate bubble level.
I think I am going to consolidate and go to a Horus Vision ACI.
It has level, degrees and cosign all in one unit.

Then I can do quick cosign numbers OR punch the degrees into the palm pilot.

No one is black and one is tan - I like to color coordinate my tacticool gear. And I would be caught dead with a palm pilot in the field

Lets just say they aren't on his Christmas card list, but IIRC there are a few suttle differences.

They work well. Even out here in the desert/mountains I haven't really needed it. I guess I can estimate angles well. In my log book I have a printout giving cosines of angles in 5 degree increments.

FWIW, Randall laid out the "riflemans rule" of calculating the true horizontal distance. Using the improved riflemans rule is even more accurate and just as easy. Take the cosine of the angle and multiply it by your comeup for the LOS distance. Dial that instead. Remember to still dial in the windage for the LOS distance! Read this:
