AR Large Frame Grip vs Small Frame Grip?

I was considering getting an ergo deluc large frame tatical grip for my 308 AR but I didn't think 308's used different grips than a standard ar.

What are the differences between the Large Frame version of grip and the regular ones?

If you have never shot an AR with a palm shelf I'd suggest your try before you buy. I hate them. They are fine if you plan to only shoot from a bench or prone but for standing and running-n-gunning they suck.

My 308 has 24" almost 5lb barrel, I don't think I will use it for run and gun Also the palm shelf is removable, but not I haven't tried one yet.
But I still don't understand the difference between the large frame grips?

I have both the small frame and large frame ergo tactical grips with palm shelf. They look to be the same exact grip, except the large frame grip comes with a spacer that fits where the web of your hand touches the receiver. look up ergo 4012 large frame spacer.

so it pushes the back of your hand out a little farther? perfect!

Not really so much, it just fills in the little void between the grip and receiver. It's not really noticeable without it. It seems some .308 receivers don't need them. Jd machine's one that doesn't, but my dpms fits the grip better with it.

It all comes down to what fits your hand.
If you have large hands you will probably want a large grip.
If you are like me with small hands you will probably want smaller grips.
