    Question for the AK builders.

Hey all, question for the AK experts. Will a NDS-3 receiver work with a Bulgarian 5.45x39 parts kit?

And what's the opinion on the differences in quality of the different parts kits. I've seen Romy's, Yugo's, Bulgarian and Hungarians. With quite a range as far as price goes.

    TIA for any info.

Nope, you'll need an NDS2 for a bulgie 5.45 kit.

I like(d) Romies because they were cheap and plentiful and they run just fine. Hungarians and Polish are a little nicer, but we're talking AKs here. Yugos like to be different, so they think they're something special. Bulgarians are the closest you can get to Russian these days. 5.45 kits, either Bulgi or Polish are worth the extra expense for ammo savings, but IMHO the variation of the 7.62x39 kits is unwarranted and now even the Romies are overpriced. I'm glad I bought mine when I did, just sad I didn't get more.

The main differences between 7.62 receivers and 5.45 receivers are the ejector lengths and the magwell sizes. They are not interchangable.

Also, the holes for the rear trunnion are spaced differently on Bulgy AK-74 (versus AK-47).

J&g still has romy g's for 139 + 10 for a nicer one, so 150 160ish, not too bad, but im willing to bet in a month they'll be at around $200. Time to hold onto these for a couple months. maybe I can sell them and fund a krink kit
