PRS Installed - Now Bolt Catch Problem

    Fellas:

I removed my collapsing B5 Systems SOPMOD and installed the Magpul PRS along with a rifle length buffer tube, spring and buffer. Now my bolt catch will not lock the bolt back. It's almost as if the bolt isn't coming back far enough for the catch to "catch". Gun is an LWRC M6 lower and upper. Any ideas?

    Piston system right?

Dont know much about the LWRC Piston guns but could it be that now the piston system isnt pushing the bolt far enough back to catch on the bolt catch? Any FTF's or difference in ejection pattern?

Does the bolt lock back manually on an empty mag?

Did you lube the spring? It almost looks like you left the backing plate on but I can't tell from the pic.

The backing plate was replaced with a piece which allows the attachment of a sling to a fixed stock rifle.

I had this problem with the same stock... I believe there's a spacer somewhere in the buffer tube.. take it out. IIRC that is!

Did you use the magpul screw or a regular A2 one?

Can you manually lock it back using the charging handle? If not, the spacer that does not belong, or a stock screw that is too long sounds like the issue. If you can do it manually, then the number of possible problems goes up quite a bit. Maybe the buffer spring is heavier and you are not quite getting enough bolt travel compared to your old setup.

Resolved. Needed to use the Magpul screw. The other screw which came with the sling attachment plate was too long and was the source of problem.

                  Works like a champ now.
