what is the main reazon for a aftermarket compensator in a carbine?

Superior comp like a Battlecomp gives me zero recoil and zero muzzle rise. I can shoot faster and more accurately.

Faster follow up shots and easier to stay on target. The flip side is with the extra muzzle flash you may gain you may not be able to adequately see your target during.rapid fire.
They are usually loud too.

Also if you're going featureless you'll want a comp/brake instead of the typical stock flash hider.

Quick question just picked up and and put a yhm phantom 1 M28 break not the flash hinder. But it does not line up when using the supplied washer. Or with my stock washer. I forgot if I tried it without any washer. But any thoughs? Other then a spacer kit? Right now I. Useing a lockwasher which its just a tiny bit off which is good enought for me at the moment

I think your only choice is diff size spacer. Or maybe weld or pin it

I had the exact same problem with my phantom. Are you using a vice? I ended up not putting enough muscle on it the first time to properly crush the washer. A little more gorilla and you'll get it seated.

although i did not use a vice. but with the supplied washer. id have to go almost a half a turn and that didnt seem possible or worth stripping threads. the bottom of the break was at about 10 o'clock and would have had to go all the way to 6 o clock. (12 o'clock being the top of the barrel)


it was also the same with my a2 bird cages.

Yeah, you need to crush the crush washer. That's how they work, you crush it by tightening the muzzle device until it's lined up right.

The alternative would be to use peel washers, which you need to peel apart until you get them to the right thickness to get the muzzle device aligned correctly.

Same here, i thought i was going to snap something, but it did crush in the end, and it lined up just right too.....

If you mount the barrel in a vise with 1/4" thick leather wrapped around the FSB, you will be able to put a lot more force into it.
