    Ballistics Calc for IPhone

Any suggestions for the best app for IPhone? Doesn't need to be free.

    Thanks,

Try the JBM Ballistics app or the Shooter app. They're both really good.

I use a ballistic app on a very regular basis. I have setteled Ballistic FTE as my favorite for ease of use, features, and accuracy.

            Ballistic FTE, the $9 version.

The developer is starting to update it with bloatware but it's still the best overall for functionality.

I use Kac Bullet Flight. Don't have experience with any others, as this one's been working for me for the last 4 years. Ymmv

The latest patch seems to have fixed an intermittent crash. It still has a better interface than Shooter. I have both and still prefer Ballistic, despite the addition of fluff.

both apps use the same engine so to speak

still figuring out what I need a 3D graph for, drop and drift table is more than enough

                    I use ballistic AE.
It's worth the extra $10 for the HUD feature.

Shooter. Great app with pre loaded BCs from most of the bullet manufacturers.

I have both shooter and ballistic, and I've messed around with several of the free programs. There are certain small things I like better about Ballistic, but overall I prefer Shooter for two reasons. First, Shooter allows you to input density altitude, which I prefer to use over temperature altitude and barometric pressure. But the biggest benefit in Shooter is the ability to calibrate your tables if the calculated drops are a little off from what you are observing in the field. Both are good programs though, and both use JBM as a base so neither one should be more or less accurate than the other. I think either one is a bargain, I'm actually kinda glad I downloaded both because they both have strengths and weaknesses. But if I had to pick one it would be Shooter.

Ballistic also accepts DA as an input.
You have to go into the phone setting >ballistic >atmosphere >instrumentation

It's also pretty easy to tweak the dope by making small velocity adjustments.
If you are only using DA, you are missing that your load runs at different velocities as the temperature changes...

Yah, I'm glad I went with the AE version. I'm going mildot, so the extra mildot Calc in the AE version sold me. I briefly looked at the IPad version too, looks cool, too bad it's another $20. Maybe in the future if I find something in it worthwhile.

I'm excited to learn all the features of Ballistic. I've been meaning to start a logbook, so I'm gonna try the included one. Something about a reloading program included too, I'll have to figure out.
