Looking for an M1A in the Bay area, shop suggestions?

    Hey guys,

I was wondeirng if anyone can tell me which stores they think I could find a comparable deal on a Springfield M1A (or which ones would carry them) - I'm looking for the longer barreled "Standard M1A" models or "Scout Squad" model. I'm really just wanting a nice rifle for the weekends at the range without breaking my bank and something to hold me over while I wait for my FFL03 license and can hit up the CMP lol!

    Thanks in advance.

Btw, I live in the East Bay. I'll prolly hit JG(?) and Dom's in Livemore first but if anyones actually "seen" the models I listed above or something comparable anywhere else, that'd save me time from driving around....

There's a used supermatch on M-14forum.com (you'd have to have it shipped into your FFL). $1500 bucks. If I didn't already have one, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Check out City Arms in Pacific. I was there last week (picked up my S&W M&P 45!!!) and they had several in stock. Also Tabors in San Bruno always has a few in stock, but his prices are a lot higher. Krauswerks also usually has one or two in stock.

We have most Models of M1A in stock at Bullseye in San Rafael.

Standards, Socom II, Socom 16, Scout Squad, an I believe a few of the Match models.

Shoot me a PM or an email and we can set up a time to come in and check them out. There are a bunch in the vault I can pull out for you to fondle.

I actually did see one at Dom's in Livermore when I was DROSing my WASR, and then after my 10day wait was up, it was still there. They are great to deal with too.

Heck they even have stripped lowers in stock....

                Don't you mean "come down?"

It's totally cool that you pimp for your shop, but you should make your affiliation clear - either by saying so or keeping it in your signature.

Please get the Loaded stainless? It's the nicest choice available in the lower-priced models and an excellent value.

Also, if you ever get tired of the 21" barrel, you can always have it cut/threaded to 18". The non-SS barrels from Springer are NOT chrome lined, so SS is a huge improvement.

I believe an older NM M1A has been sitting at Castro Valley for at least a few weeks, maybe a month or so. I've played around with it a bit, needs a cleaning & oiling. Excellent trigger. I think it's $1,450.00.

No, I only work the weekends. It's Thursday, I was sitting at REAL work. I wish I could afford to work at the Exchange full time. So since I'm not working, I said "go", If I was there I would have said come. And i work for guns not cash. No W4! It's THE ONE's shop.

Last time I was in Dicky's/Dublin gun and knives, they had one. Descent price also. It had the black composite stock. Dublin Blvd, left off of Hopyard.

Reed's sports shop also has a lot of M1As, but they're usually $100-200 over msrp

Sportsman's Supply in Campbell usually has a couple on the rack - the had 3 the other day. Dunno how their prices are, but they usually beat Reed's (that's not hard to do).
