Well I got the Leupy 3.5-10x40mm front focal optic. I'll hunt around for the leica 1200 at a lower price. Thanks for the info guys. You've been quite helpful! Thanks for the link to that laser rangefinder site! There is a ton of great info there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he had some issues with his not ranging at longer distances. You'd have to ask him.

If you can get a refurb from cameralandny, I'd go for it. They have them sometimes for 350 or so.

Good choice. It will serve you much better than the 8.5-25.

Check out cameralandny.com for good deals on the leica.

            Get the Leica.
            Trust me.

The LRF's go for $400 or less on eBay.
The CRF's go for around $500.

I bought the CRF because I like small electronics and it has a tighter beam convergence than the LRF.
From what I have read, the larger LRF's are easier to hold to range long distances.

The CRF is so small that I might just mount it on the rifle and use my weak eye on it.
At least it would be steady.

Since the leica does not have angled shot capabilities, are there any mathematical formulas one can use? I'm sure there must be something out there. Since I'm primarily going to be using this set-up for stationary target shooting, I don't mind doing the math.

I'm thinking of selling mine and getting the angle one. Mine is in cosine.

Best would be to get a PDA with exbal or Field Firing Solutions. That would be the most accurate. For paper and pencil math, read here:

Get yourself a mildotmaster and an ACI.
It does crude up/down hill calculations to about 5 degree angle steps.

PDA's are even more accurate, but a mildotmaster will get you on target.

www.mildotmaster.com has a flash demo you can try.
