    Nor Cal 50cal ranges

Does anyone know of any 50BMG/50DTC restrictions at the local northern cal ranges? I'm thinking of taking my new Bohica upper to sight in at either Circle S in Petaluma or Chabot. I don't want to go and find they don't allow 50s

I think Sac Valley permits them, but you have to first qualify on the 100 yard range to get to use the 1,000 yard range.
If you want to let me shoot it in exchange for land to shoot it on, I have access to all sorts of private land in Amador/El Dorado Counties you can shoot on!

Have you called or checked the web site for either?

Why not do your own homework rather than having other people spend their time doing it for you?

Yes I have been to their websites as well as shoot at the ranges. I have heard that Chabot limits 50s to certain days and I knew that Circle S use to let 50s shoot but not sure if its limited to certain days or they stopped all together. Since all I've heard is hearsay, then I figured someone might be able to clear it up. If you don't like my question, ignore this thread.

You're more then welcome to try out the 50 if you are every down in my area. If I'm ever up in your area, maybe I'll hit you up to go shooting

Why don't you just call them and get it from the horse's mouth? Most of what is posted here is technically hearsay anyway.

Chabot restricts the times they let 50's shoot, I would call them to check first.
Sac Valley does not let 50's shoot there.
USI in Concord does let 50's shoot. There public range is open 6 day's a week (closed Tues) but it is only 100 yards. Their members range goes out to 200 yards but you have to be a member or a guest of a member and then it is only open a certian times. They do have a 50's match twice a year there. The next one is in Oct. PM me if you are interested.

I know it's a few hours away but, there will be a FCSA match in Reno April 18-20. If you're interested, all you really need is a 50 and 60 rounds of ammo. Who care's if you don't win? I shot my first FCSA match with ball ammo, a new rifle that I only had fired 9 round through and no experience shooting more than 100 yards. PM me for details.

Metcalf in San Jose lets 50's shoot there.

.50s are cool at Circle S. There were a couple of them there on March 16th. Ron, the owner has no problem with them.

About 18 months ago I was at Chabot's 100-yard range. There was a guy several positions down from me shooting a .50BMG rifle. Made my fillings rattle each time that beast fired...

Last time I was there there were a couple of .50's also. The nice thing is that the 300 yd range is always avail., no special members days or anything like that.

Sweet, looks like I'll be hitting Circle S to sight in. I'll probably be there next Thursday if anyone wants to meet up for some shooting I haven't been in awhile but I've always like that range.
