Where can I find a Sun Devil Stripped Upper?

Why would you want the upper alone? They match the anodizing with the lower....

Rainier has their lowers, ask him if they've got uppers.

Mooneys firearms has them, too...

Is there a specific reason?

I want to build a complete upper piece by piece, starting with a stripped upper. I already have a few lowers laying around, and I can't spend $300+ on the combo. I just need to know where to find them.

The SunDevil website doesn't have order information either, and Rainier doesn't have any in stock. Mooney's only sells the combo with the lower

Why do you want the Sun Devil? You have the Sun Devil lower?

I'd suggest the VLTOR MUR or LaRue Stealth...

If you don't want it billet machined, or don't care, Daniel Defense are nice. Colt are great if you can find them, too.

What are you thinking of building? Barrel is just about the most important thing anyways...

The Sun Devil upper in your picture is a matched set with the lower that they made for their precision receiver sets. The lower has a tensioning screw that mates up with the upper so the upper alone may not work .

Saw the Sun Devil uppers at the Shot Show this year and it looked like any other upper with no "hole" to match up with the tension screw of their lower, which is just a polymer piece to push against the rear of the upper to make it tight. Call them and order straight if possible. Rainiers had them so you can maybe call them to pre-order.

I personally like to match uppers with lowers but since you have lowers lying around waiting for an upper, you may consider a Mega... I have built up 3 sets of Mega uppers and lowers and they are very consistent in build quality.

To add to the discussion...

Sun Devil will also have a Billet Upper with Forward Assist, it may already be here, but I have not seen it listed on the e-tailers I frequesntly check.
