I know this has been asked before, kindof thinking out loud (sort of rhetorically): you can complete a build with various vendors as long as everything is mil-spec, and the rifle will perform as long and as well as say a straight from the S&W (as an example) manufacturer?

I'm thinking about driving over to JD and buying a few striped lowers, and just putting them in my safe. Sound like a good plan? :-)

Similar to my pre-panic build as well... I used the magpul ambi sling mount for the rear and mounted a rail mounted front sling adaptor with QD on the left rail. If you wanna keep price down on optics get the Vortex Strike Fire
