Another 80% selector switch etchings thread

I'm sure there are also raw fully-machined lowers available that bear no engravings other than manufacturer's name and serial number. If you can't find one, contact some of the lower manufacturers like Aero Precision to see if they can make one for you without any non-required engravings. Better yet, ask if you can give them your desired design and markings so they can custom engrave and anodize for you.

I haven't seen any in the last year. (edit, minus the NODAK ones that are way expensive)


I have a buddy that just ordered a bunch of custom areo's, minimum order was 100. Then again, that was an FFL to FFL order with custom serials also.

80% aren't popular out here at all. Hard to find shops that do them.

The engraving can be done while the 80% is just a paperweight. After that, you can mill it yourself. No shops required.

I'm well aware of the laws involving 80%'s, the issue is I don't have a way to mill it once it gets to me. Shops offering 80% DIY services are not popular in Texas.

I don't have the room/money to invest in knee mill, and I'm not side loading the crap out of a drill press to do it. I've ran enough out using safe-t-planes just jointing boards.

A knee mill is nice, but you don't need one to complete an 80%. Many people have done it will mini-mills like this one:
