    M1A Super Match

    Gents

I'm trying to learn more about the Springfield M1A rifles. I know Springfield makes a Super Match series. I understand the technical modification. However, I haven't been able to find performance comparison between as Standard and a Super Match. Does anyone know of a web page that shows this or can explain the difference here? I assume it has a tighter grouping at long range but how much smaller is it let say at 700 yards compared to a Standard. Also, does this translate to loner range than a Standard?

    Thanks

Check out Springfields web site. The differance are the receiver has two lugs to hold on to the stock. They fiberglass bead the stock to the reciever,Stops movement of the receiver to the stock,a slight movement. The stock is also a lot wider in al areas compared to the stock one.The match grade barrel, and other parts are match .The trigger is also a lot better.

Check out M14 forums. com to learn about the M1A platform and the other vendors out there. You can learn about some of the short comings of the springfield and what some of the better builders are. Not to bash springfield as I own 2 of them.

A M1A Super Match can have no lugs, one lug, or two lugs.
