M16A2 Stock Single Point Sling Adapter

Is there a way to mount a single point sling into an M16 rifle with an A2 stock?

I have a GG&G or tangodown mount that clamps around the stock right where the stock seats against the receiver.
It gives me a flush cup that I use with a single point sling.

GG&G also makes a flat plate that slips between the buttstock and the receiver that's similar to the single point mounts commonly seen on carbine-stocked ARs.

Troy makes one with a QD swivel. I have one on my A1 stocked carbine. Works well but it runs around $50...
