Buffer tube won't screw into receiver

I received a palmetto State moe lower build kit this week and was building the stock together. The buffer tube gets about a half turn and then will not screw in any more. I tried it on 3 different lowers with the same results.

I have another moe kit from psa and that buffer tube screws in no prob as did the pistol buffer from my ar pistol.

Just thought id see if anyone else has experienced this problem and if there is a simple fix before I contact Palmetto.

I had that with a PWS buffer.. it was just a bit "out of spec".. Nothing to do but send it back..

I suppose you could tap the lower reciever if you had the right tap.. or clean up the threads on the buffer tube. No other real options..

Be sure its started dead straight...half turn them binds sounds like it *might*also have a buggered first thread or burr on either the tube or receiver. Have another setup to try a swap with? Would help eliminate lower vs tube.

Double Dang...I have the same MOE kit on order. Hope it has the proper Buffer Tube.

Is your Tube roll thread or point cut?

If the Tube is point cut it's a commercial aftermarket tube and might not fit a Mil-Spec Lower. Just wondering............

thread shouldn't be different on mil or comm...

my first thought would be burr (or some other deformation of threads)...

It would take a big-@ss tap & die to re-thread, I'd call PSA for advice.

            could be fubar

If there's one thing I noticed that I don't like it is their buffer tubes. I have their build kits on two identical lowers and the threads on each buffer tube look rather different. They both fit but they are screw in a different amount. It's very slight but noticeable.

I had the same problem with PSA's pistol buffer tube. I ended up wrapping the buffer thread with sand paper and rotated it around. After a few tries it fit nice and snug. I think the threads were too tall if that makes sense.
