Im looking at AK's on centerfiresystems.com, does anyone know what the difference is between a M70B2 and the M70B2 "DARK BORE" kit is??

Dark bore means the bore is corroded and/or pitted, and not shiny, usually from going uncleaned after shooting, particularly if corrosive ammo was used. A lightly corroded bore is called frosted, meaning it's not dark enough to be called dark, but not shiny enough to be called shiny...

Dark bores can sometimes be cleaned up by using things like electronic bore cleaners, Flitz, fire-lapping, or a combination of the above, but it depends a lot on how bad it is.

Some guns shoot fine with dark bores, and others are bad enough to affect accuracy. It's not uncommon on older milsurps to find the last inch of the barrel pitted, which is the worst part, since corrosion around the crown has the biggest effect on accuracy.

I'd always recommend getting a good bore when possible, particularly if the difference in price isn't that much.

PRK is People's Republic of Kalifornia, a cynically humorous reference to the Socialist tendencies of the state, particularly in the gun control arena.

Yugoslavian rifles do not have chrome bores, so get the ones with the shiny bores... pay that extra difference.

A RPK looks nothing like a MP5, RPK kits start about $399 for a Romanian kit and DCI has RPK style receivers about $175 IIRC

Yes, there is one company that is doing MP5's, but you need to buy the complete rifle, and they strip it, ship you the parts, and the receiver to the FFL. It aint cheap, and I don't remember who the company was.

Special Weapons, Bobcat Weapons and Vector Arms are some of the companies that make MP-5 style rifles. Just the first two companies have models available in 9 mm.
