For what it's worth, PTR's & HK mags are still selling at close to normal prices vs. all the other 308 semi's. They are the best kept secret of the 308 semi world. Grab one while you still can before their prices go up.

      Hi Guys~

Thanks to everyone for all the great input~! I would have replied to you all individually, but the response has been much greater than I expected! I have found a dealer willing and eager to sell and ship to me in CA, but they require that I send them a bullet button which they will install for $50. I can't find one? Called my PPT dealer, who specializes in AW & Class III, and they don't have any. Help! Anyone have one for sale, or have a suggestion as to where I might find one? Also, is it legal to have 20 round mags with a blocker (seen many stating that) as well as the 10 rounders? The old 20's with a blocker would seem to be a cheaper option.

      Thanks~!
      Stephanie~

Blocked 20's are fine. Try contacting Raddlock directly for a BB. Good luck! Robert RTG has the PCS heavy buffers also for about 70 bucks.

There's three different PTR-91s about halfway down the page. I window shop at Atlantic's site now and then, they gotta lotta EBR (and pistol) stuff that's legal for sale in California. Of course there's the "staggering demand" disclaimer.

And no, your rifle wouldn't get intercepted somewhere, although I can understand being a little paranoid in this environment. Your FFL can receive all manner of goods in illegal configurations, they just have to be rendered politically correct before he can sell them to you.
Those have not been in stock for a month there,.

Install one of those, and then drill through the spring plate and the floor plate, an overlapping hole towards the front, and pop a rivet in there.

Raddlock's home page says that their kit is NOT CADOJ approved!

I don't really think the CADOJ knows anything about brands and models.......if you have a lock that requires a "tool" for magazine removal, you are in compliance.

No mag locks have been approved by the CA DOJ. A mag lock that requires a "tool" to remove the magazine, and a capacity of < = 10 rounds meets the letter of the law.

                      and....

nobody's CA-compliance kits are CADOJ approved. CADOJ won't approve them, even if you ask, and some of the manufacturers have.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I believe that there is a Solar Tactical wrap for the PTR-91 that allows you to run it featureless...

I just put a PTR in jail on Sat. that I ordered straight from Atlantic, and they installed the bullet button before it was shipped out.

I know they are out of PTR's but you might email them and ask to see if they have any BB's that they can sell you for one.

I just bought 10 mags for it yesterday for a total of $50. Kind of crazy considering you can barely find 1 ar mag for that.

That's an entirely different body of law.

A gun can be not an AW bust still not Roster exempt.

For guns like AR/AK pistols, both bodies of law must be observed.

However, a CA FFL cannot receive an AW.

Just have them remove the trigger group, bolt group, and stock and ship them directly to you. They can ship the barreled receiver to the FFL and you can work on finding a maglock or a grip-wrap and muzzle-brake in the meantime.
