Honest answer is you shoot magnetic core ammo where it allowed. I don't know your area, so I can't recommend a specific place.

Public, outdoor ranges here in CA tend to be on Forest Service or BLM land and have to abide by the restrictions placed on them that are part and parcel of their lease or permit.

Public, BLM lands and private ranges are a horse of a different color.
